The Ripping 2 Cheese and Ham Toastie

  • 2 slices Abbott’s Bakery® Dark Rye (toasted)
  • 1 slice Gruyere cheese
  • 1 slice Colby cheese
  • 100g smoked ham
  • 25g rocket leaves
  • 1 tsps Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbs sweet mustard pickle
  • 2 slices sandwich stackers/ cucumber pickle
  • 1 tbs butter


  1. Place 1 slice Abbott’s Bakery® Dark Rye bread onto a clean work surface. Spread Dijon mustard on the slice.
  2. Layer with slice of Colby cheese, ham and slice of gruyere cheese, then sweet mustard pickle. Place the remaining bread slice on top.
  3. Heat a large frypan over medium high heat, add butter and heat until melted. Place the completed sandwiches into the pan and cover with a lid. Cook for 2 minutes each side until the cheese has melted and the bread is toasted.
  4. Remove the top slice of sandwich and add rocket leaves to each, replace slice. Serve with sandwich stackers on each sandwich and extra mustard pickle.
